India's REER (the rupee measured against a basket of trading partners' currencies, adjusted for inflation) was 90.14 in August 2026, close to the 88.96 mark one standard deviation below its 1994-2026 average. It has fallen since November 2024, when it peaked at 106.10, more than two standard deviations above that average.
